TouhouCon 2015 Announces Renowned AAA Video Game Music Composer and Producer Rika Muranaka as Guest of Honor

Villa Park, CA – August 6th, 2015 – TouhouCon is pleased to announce today music composer and producer Rika Muranaka Guest of Honor at its September convention. TouhouCon, Where Creativity Comes to Play, is scheduled for September 18-20, 2015, at the Hilton Anaheim. She will participate in a special meet-n-greet, question and answer panel sessions, and autograph session. In addition, she along with Grammy award winning producer Damien “E-Love” Matthias will be the official judges to a Karaoke Contest held at this year’s event. Based in Tokyo, Japan and Los Angeles, California, Rika has composed and produced themes to some of Konami’s most successful & award-winning AAA game titles including Metal Gear Solid series (MGS), Silent Hill, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. She was instrumental in collaborating and hiring Hollywood film composer Harry Gregson-Williams to work with her on the MGS series. She has played a fundamental role in shaping the tone of dramatic on screen events, which elevated the cinematic experience for gamers worldwide. To this day, Rika has sold over 44 million copies of video games, combined with CDs sales through out the world. Her last project with Konami, and the final entry in the Metal Gear Solid series, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, will be released September 1st, 2015, and the soundtrack will be released September 2nd, 2015. TouhouCon 2015 Announces 8-Bit Cinema David Dutton and Henry Dutton as Guests of Honor

  Villa Park, CA – August 6th, 2015 – TouhouCon is pleased to announce today 8-Bit Cinema creators David Dutton and Henry Dutton will be a Guests of Honor at its September convention. TouhouCon, Where Creativity Comes to Play, is scheduled for September 18-20, 2015, at the Hilton Anaheim. They will participate in a guest panel and autograph session. Based in San Francisco, David is a director with an eclectic array of music videos and animation. He has produced music videos for Bassnectar, Dev, Fountains of Wayne, Miguel, and more. In conjunction with The Limousines, their 70’s-cinema-zombie-horror music video “Internet Killed the Video Star“, has become a cult classic with over a million views on YouTube, and won the Audience Choice Award at the 2011 LA Music Video Festival (indie category), and was featured on MTV. Henry Dutton is a self-taught musician who has been producing since 1999. He originally started his art by making beats for hip-hop artists. From there, he took his beat-making skills into the Electronica genre and became known for his ability to play his tracks live on a drum pad. Henry also scores David’s films. Their short film “Influencia”, was a finalist at the 2012 New York Short Film Festival. Villa Park, CA – July 28th, 2015 – TouhouCon is pleased to announce prolific illustrators Banpai Akira, Sunao, and Shinoasa as Guests of Honor at its September convention. TouhouCon, Where Creativity Comes to Play, is scheduled for September 18-20, 2015, at the Hilton Anaheim. They will participate in a guest panel, autograph session, and exhibiting at TouhouCon exhibit hall. Banpai Akira (pun on ‘Vampire Killer’) is an illustrator for the doujin circles Yatsu wa Kamei, PURE, and many others. Born in Japan, he is the character designer for Koumajou Densetsu, a fan-made Touhou Project Castlevania-esque game created by Frontier Aja.  Outside of Touhou works, his illustrations can be seen in ALiCE’s EMOTiON Funny Princess, Konami’s SOUND VOLTEX BOOTH Vampire Killer scar-ed Pf rmx, and light novels such as Fang of Underdog, Happy Death Day, and Kimi to wa Chimeiteki na Zure ga Aru. Sunao is also part of the doujin circles Yatsu wa Kamei and PURE, known in the Touhou community for their works on Deep Red, Vampire Kiss, and Eternal Meek. Outside of Touhou Project, she is best known as the artist for the manga Akuma no Riddle (Riddle Story of Devil in the US), F-Rank no Boukun, Nanami to Misuzu, and Shinigami Rising. TouhouCon 2015 Announces Hakurei Jinja Reitaisai President Takahiro Hojo as a Guest of Honor

  Villa Park, CA – July 22nd, 2015 – TouhouCon is pleased to announce today Hakurei Jinja Reitaisai president Takahiro Hojo as a Guest of Honor at its September convention. TouhouCon, Where Creativity Comes to Play, is scheduled for September 18-20, 2015, at the Hilton Anaheim. He will participate in a guest panel along with other special events throughout the convention. Takahiro Hojo is the president of the Annual Hakurei Shrine Grand Festival (Hakurei Jinja Reitaisai), a yearly, Touhou Project only convention that takes place every spring at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo, Japan. Originally started in 2004, it is the largest of the many genre-specific doujin conventions in the world with approximately 50,000 attendees coming and over 5,000 circles participating at the event.
